By Mr. Mike
I wear size 48-50 cycling shoes and have a hard time finding cold weather covers for my size. In fact, I've been using cold weather shoe covers as socks. I saw these on clearance so I took a chance and have to say my feet have never been more comfortable in the cold. The neoprene keeps the cold air and wetness out and the ones (size 50) I got were very slightly on the large size so I had room for an extra pair of socks for insulation. I've seen some reviews criticize them for not having insulation, but if you just size them just a little bit large you can solve that problem with socks, which are certainly easier to keep clean than built-in insulation. My only nit is that the neoprene-plastic frame flexes a bit on the upstroke so you lose a some power but I probably lost more power before trying to push numb feet around.

These are my wet winter cycling shoes for the winter in the Pacific NW. I bought them because they are less expensive than others and I saw in the pictures the two long slots for the SPD type cleats. However, these only take regular road bike pedal cleats and not SPD cleats. I had to get a new set of pedals for my bike for the shoes but it is still cheaper than getting other shoes.

I love the look of this shoe and had I done a little more research I would have gone with the specialized shoe that is similar since I had to spend another 50 to adapt them to my pedals and walking. I love them.
