By Wally
I have used Shimano and Sidi winter bicycling shoes for several years with battery-powered foot-warmer soles, and they never kept my feet as warm as the Northwave Celcius Arctic shoe. It is very well insulated. Because of a scarcity of sizes when I ordered it, I had to buy a size 48, which is 1-2 sizes larger than my other winter shoes. But, this enabled me to wear an extra pair of socks. The result has been that my feet have been comfortable when riding in cold weather. They seem to be very well constructed and easy to put on and take off (in marked contrast to the Shimano shoe, which has a fixed cuff).

I have a wide assortment of booties and Lake MX 140 and Shimano MW80 (not close to waterproof, but great in below freezing), but if you want ONE solution, the Northwave Celsius GX is the answer. THE TRICK: wrap saran wrap or better, pallet seal under your pants leg cuff and over the top of the boot, i.e., ELIMINATE WICKING water into your sock and boot), but it will be the Nortwave Celsius GX that does the rest; it keeps water from getting into the boot from everywhere else AND on a cold day...depending on your socks, your toes will be very happy.

By Wraith Rider
I've had these shoes about a month and have ridden them down to 20F. So far, they are performing very well. The sizing was perfect, not small or large. The only minor complaint is that a drawstring is used to tighten the shoe instead of laces. While handy, the length of the drawstring seems overly long and require some folding to 'hide it under the Velcro weather flaps. It's not a big deal and the drawstring is fast.I would definitely buy these shoes, again.
