Light and durable

Beginner rider with a terrible ankle injury. The high ankle support feels good and tight. For a out of the box ride, I would wait and get the shoe broke in before I go full bore. Look forward to it.

Lake shoes seem hard to find, I am glad I found a place to purchase them.Available in half sizes provides a good fit. Standard "D" width feels great.Full carbon sole, leather uppers, well ventilated, Boa lacing system, $140.00.This is a great shoe at a great price. I am using these with the Shimano Dura Ace PD-790 pedals.The Boa lacing system is really nice to use, the shoes fit well and are comfortable.

BOA system broke, Lake customer support is HORRIBLE!!!

I purchased these shoes about a year ago and probably put only 20 rides on them, the BOA system broke and while BOA has been great to work with, the problem is with the shoe, not BOA. LAKE doesn't have a customer service department, period. Buy at your own risk, if anything goes wrong, LAKE is nowhere to be found...it's unlike anything I have ever seen.

These shoes are amazing

I had never tried Lake before. I didn't know what I was missing! These shoes fit like a glove. The BOA system is a dream and snugs the shoe to your foot without causing rubbing or hotspots. It is a stiff, comfortable shoe. Any professional rider would be happy with this shoe. I have put 1000 miles into them and they are still like new!

The Genius 5 Pro Shoes are made with Sidi's Millennium 3 Carbon Composite sole. Unlike the nylon construction of the Millennium 2 sole, the Millennium 3 is created by injecting carbon fiber into a nylon matrix. This provides 37% greater stiffness than the Millennium 2, and it's more durable to boot. The Millennium 3 also features Sidi's replaceable, non-slip heel pad. The Genius 5 uses a ratcheting buckle so you can micro-adjust strap pressure to your liking. It's mated to a Soft Arch Compression Strap that more evenly spreads the upward stroke pedaling forces across the top of your foot. The buckle provides 4 clicks per uptake along with half-click releases to tension the pressure of the strap. The shoe is also secured with two High Security Velcro straps. The Velcro is reinforced with locking teeth to resist slippage. Combine these straps with a molded plastic heel cup and you end up with unmatched security. Its padded tongue with fit relievers is one final small (but important) detail that helps deliver unparalleled comfort over longer rides. Sidi Genius 5 Pro Carbon Shoes are available in White Vernice and come in sizes between 38 and 52 European.

Great shoes for the money

I love the shoes. Bought them for cyclocross, they work perfectly for what I needed. The color is great because it matches my team's kit. That being said, the fit is great, I have a narrow heel and wide forefoot. The soles are good and stiff and the shoes dont fill up with mud doing the run-ups. I have had a pair of Northwave road shoes, and they are amazing as well. For the cost, they are as good as it gets.
